Northern Nimba County maintains its populous status recording 308, 421 registered voters for the 2023 legislative and presidential elections, the figured rivaled only by Montserrado County according to the National Elections Commission’s latest data.
The combined six counties of the Southeastern region of the country overtake Nimba in aggregate vote size with 309,948 eligible voters.
The preliminary results from the nine (9) counties as released by the electoral body Thursday includes: Bong 237,463, Grand Gedeh 64,061, Grand Kru 42,729, Lofa 177,892, Maryland 69,034, River Gee 37,912, River Cess 40,201, Sinoe 56,011 and Nimba 308,421 reaching the total number of registered voters in the phase 2 of the BVR to One Million, Thirty Three Thousand, Seven Hundred Twenty Four (1,033,724).
NEC Chairperson Davidetta Brown Lansanah said the BVR data are subject to change following the completion of the duplication and adjudication process.
“Final preliminary results of the fifteen (15) counties of Liberia will be released prior to the Exhibition of the Preliminary Registration Roll. It is this total preliminary result that will be exhibited at the 2080 Exhibition Centers in the fifteen (15) counties.
“The EXHIBITION of the Provisional Registration Roll will begin on 12 June and end on 17 June 2023. During this period, all 2080 Registration Centers will become Exhibition Centers and will be opened from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. 3.
“The purpose of the Exhibition is to give registrants the opportunity to reaffirm their registration details and request corrections where necessary. During Phase One registration a total of 1,435,209 (One Million Four Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Two Hundred and Nine) people registered in Montserrado, Bomi Gbarpolu Grand Cape Mount Margibi and Grand Bassa counties.
