Win & Cry: In Shocking UP’s Civil war Boakai’s Allies Register Early Regrets, Betrayal

Must read

“:Six-year journey is becoming so cloudy. Six-year journey is becoming so doubtful. Six-year journey seems to be no dependable hope,” PYJ. “No human being born of a woman will hijack this revolution,” UP Chairman Luther Tarpeh.  “None of the 15 Cabinet ministers appointed so far to head ministries is a Muslim,” Senator Amara Konneh.

President Joseph Boakai’s coalition partners have weaponized against him, just 14 days after the seating the Unity Party government echoing sentiment of regrets and broken promises.

The 79-year-old leader may be experiencing perhaps the greatest test of his political career as key allies ranging from the controversial Nimba County Senator Prince Yormie Johnson, Senator Amara Mohammed Konneh and UP national Chairman Luther Tarpeh launching and leading the civil war with in governing Unity Party alliance. All the men have pointed to early signs of failure, disillusionment and betrayal in the opening 336 hours of the Boakai’s administration.

“I lost my house. I  nearly lost my family for this same JNB presidency,” Tarpeh said when directing his troops to assemble at Boakia’s home to make demands.

“Going forward let Liberian leaders know that the main bosses are the people. And when the people are not happy the leader will not go well.”

In this edition, the Oracle News Daily has produced verbatim, oozing tirade of three leading coalition members in the Senate and at Party’s Headquarters directed at the President.

 Party Chairman Luther Tarpah

This place where you are and what you have done, you are stakeholders for this country.  I want to say to you the president has the power to appoint, which is his constitutional right.  But you as a citizen you have the right to express what you feel.

So, I will say to you if you want to exercise your democratic right, to express to him how you feel you’re welcome to express to him how you feel.

Don’t do it in a violent way. He’s the President of the Republic.  All of us here paid the price for Joe Boakai to become President. And so, I will say to you this morning don’t worry about me I’m okay.

I’m very find. If you are not fine, I will say to you, go and express yourself. Go to the President and tell him how you feel.

Nobody thought that Unity Party was going to win this election. Ordinary people like you took on the challenge, some of you were threatened. Some of you lost everything.  I lost my house.

I  nearly lost my family for this same JNB presidency. He finally became President.  We will want him succeed.  It’s too early.

I  know how you feel.  But it is also your right to go there and tell him how you people are feeling.  You should do it peacefully. He’s the President of the Republic he must be accorded the respect that is due him.

Don’t worry about me. I’m OK. Let JNB and any Liberian Leader be reminded that it’s longer going to be business as usual.  When the people put you there, you have to listen to them.

So, go and express your feelings.  He’s a wise man. He’s a man who listens. I don’t think he will see you at his gate and ask the soldiers to beat you. You’re the bosses.  From JNB to everybody,  we work for you.  So if you’re not happy about anything you have  to express it.

Going forward let Liberian leaders know that the main bosses are the people. And when the people are not happy the leader will not go well.

So, I want to say to you, go there.  You must demand you want to see the President.

When it was time for the campaign, he came to your and said “your  make me President and you will see what I will do.” And you gave him the mandate.

Go there and demand you want to see him. I’m very sure he’s going to listen to you. Don’t be violent. We made the President,  he will listen to us. Go in peace.

We are all the  ordinary people.  We brought this revolution for your upliftment and no human being born of a woman will hijack this revolution.  Most of you didn’t do this for yourselves but your children’s children.

Where were they when we were in the ‘pupu’  water?

Amara Mohammed Konneh

President Joseph Boakai has appointed 15 Ministers to head Ministries including 2 ministers of state without portfolio. Lofa has 5 (29.4%), Bong has 4 (23.5%), Bassa, Bomi, and Nimba have 2 each (35.3%) while Cape Mount and Sinoe have one each (11.7%).

Lofa – MoCI, MoE, MoYS, MIA, MoSWP

Bong- MPW, MoA, MPW,MoSWP

Bomi- MFDP, MoT

Bassa- MoH, MICAT

Nimba- MoJ, MoD

Sinoe- MoS

Cape Mount- MFA

15 of 18 cabinet ministers (83.3% of cabinet positions) appointed from 7 of 15 counties (46.6% of counties).

With 3 cabinet ministerial appointments remaining (Mines and Energy, Labour and Post and Telecommunications), 8 counties (Gbarpolu, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Kru, Rivercess, Grand Gedeh, Maryland, and Rivergee) are without Ministerial post. He won Gbarpolu and Margibi in both rounds of the elections, and Montserrado in the runoff.

– The President promised a Minister from each county. Clearly, this promise will not be fulfilled.

-None of the 15 Cabinet ministers appointed so far to head ministries is a Muslim.

-The Southeast which has six counties (Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Maryland, Grand Kru, Rivergee, and Rivercess) has received only one Ministerial appointment.

~ Five counties (Lofa, Bong, Bassa, Nimba, and Bomi) account for 88.2% of all cabinet appointments so far.

Those of us who supported President Boakai must remind him of his promises quietly and publicly when it becomes necessary to help him deliver the promises he made when he campaigned for President. Change means change!

PYJ

Ecclesiastes 5 : 5-15 talks about failed promises and how God deals with failed promises and so, people have to  be careful what promise they make. We are not discouraged, MDR (the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction), fly was living before dog ear cut. The people are very strong and resolved to support the devil it dressed.

The world is watching and Liberians are watching. When Grand Bassa could not deliver, when Bomi, a small county that can go to Nimba more than twenty times, could not deliver, Nimba stood her ground. Nimba is the electoral college of the republic.

Whoever is doing whatever they are doing is us who have supported a 79-year-old man called Boakai to the presidency of this republic.  We were in the mud, we were shot with firearms, wounded four of our people, and broke our cars windshield.

If they give one ministry thank god for you, if you give two hallelujah but you gave four, five, six, seven ministries to a county that could not deliver votes is up to you.  People, especially partisans of the Unity Party who are protesting let them be calm. Let them have fate in Joseph Boakai.

If there’s an attempt to make us irrelevant after making you president is not our problem but we will remain faithful to Boakai. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, during her administration gave people lucrative jobs but sidelined old man Boakai completely.

During the 2023 presidential elections, ANC of Alexander Cummings lobbied with him for Senator Jeremiah Koung to have gone with Cummings as running mate for the ANC and the negotiation was led by Boakai’s Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Amb. Sylvester Grisby.

Sylvester Grisby is our political enemy who will not protect the interest of Nimba, the vice president. Do you expect someone who had been against us to respect us or Koung? No.

If Grisby was a committed fellow to Boakai why didn’t he support Boakai in these elections instead of Cummings?  Do you want Nimba County to be a victim? You people think about it.

Six-year journey is becoming so cloudy. Six-year journey is becoming so doubtful. Six-year journey seems to be no dependable hope. What is happening is strange and we will be corrected by our father. If you prioritize Kissi and Gbandi over the rest of the country, you zero the entire government.

The removal of the Chief of Staff of the armed forces and his minister and his deputies is a sound of fear because he’s from Nimba. The Chief of Staff is a decent young brother but because he’s Nimba, you don’t trust and are afraid of him.

I have never a political party has a party chairman who sat in town after we went in all bushes and win political victory than you say, you are party chairman. The first thing we should have done after the victory is have a national fast and prayer. We did not do that.
