Bong County Lawmaker on Accelerating Land Restoration for Future Generations

Bong County Electoral District 5 Representative, Eugine Kollie, has urged for accelerated action on land restoration and drought resilience.
Speaking at the World Environment Day celebration in Gbarpolu County, Kollie emphasized the vital importance of land for sustainable development, food security, climate change mitigation, and biodiversity conservation.
Calling on individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to join forces, Kollie advocated for increased awareness, education, and policy support for sustainable land management practices.
The lawmaker  wants community involvement in land rehabilitation efforts and international collaboration to share knowledge and proven strategies for drought resilience and combating desertification.
Kollie pointed out the urgent responsibility to protect and restore degraded lands, highlighting the theme of World Environment Day 2024: “Accelerating Land Restoration: Drought Resilience and Desertification Progress.”
He urged for collective action to ensure that “Our Land” remains prosperous and fertile for future generations.
