A long simmering land feud between the communities of Kumah town, Zaybay town, and Gborlu town exploded into chaotic violence on Thursday, leaving a trail of blood and multiple residents hospitalized.

‎The clash, rooted in bitter territorial claims in Electoral District 2, saw neighbors turn on each other. Local sources confirmed that Sunday Shilue and a resident known as Beechee; both from Zaybay town, were among those seriously wounded in the fray. While the total casualty count remains unclear, the severity of the confrontation has sent shockwaves through the region.

‎The Liberia National Police (LNP) moved in swiftly to quell the unrest, executing a series of arrests.

‎According to LNP report, multiple suspects are currently behind bars.

‎The LNP confirmed last Friday that those responsible for the violence, will face the full weight of the law.

‎Local officials slammed the outbreak as a predictable consequence of “recurring tensions.” Despite previous warnings, land boundary disputes in this district continue to serve as a powder keg for communal warfare.

‎” Residents must stop the mayhem,” one official noted, urging the communities to use the courtroom rather than machetes to settle ownership grievances.

‎Authorities are maintaining a heavy presence in the area to prevent retaliatory strikes, though the atmosphere remains thick with hostility.
