Avesoro and Epiroc – a leading global Swedish manufacturer of mining equipment have signed a strategic memorandum to expand equipment capabilities at the New Liberty underground mine in Liberia, operated by Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC).

The agreement marks a significant investment in haulage and drilling equipment designed to improve production efficiency and operational safety at the West African gold operation, the parties said.

Avesoro CEO Özgür Gümüş and Epiroc President and CEO Helena Hedblom signed the memorandum, which reflects what both companies described as a shared vision for the mine’s future development.

The first units from a package of 53 Epiroc machines have already been delivered to New Liberty.

The equipment includes Minetruck MT65 haul trucks and Scooptram ST18 loaders, which are intended to enhance underground haulage capacity and operational flexibility.

Additional drilling equipment will be deployed to support longhole drilling operations and lateral development work.

Avesoro stated that the investments support its strategy to enable safer and more efficient mining operations.

The company is implementing a new longhole drilling method and a 1,000-meter, two-shaft development plan at the mine.

The commissioning of a hoist shaft and ongoing automation infrastructure studies are expected to further improve safety, capacity and overall operational performance.

Avesoro highlighted that Epiroc’s technology and technical support capabilities will play an important role in supporting the mine’s long-term operational success.

The strategic partnership reflects the company’s commitment to modernizing the New Liberty operation’s fleet and production infrastructure.
