The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has been honored with the Governance Commission’s High Integrity Performance Award, recognizing the institution’s commitment to transparency, accountability, ethical leadership, and good governance in the public sector.
The award marks a significant achievement for the LLA, highlighting its efforts to uphold high standards of institutional integrity and improve service delivery in the management and administration of Liberia’s land resources.
According to the Governance Commission, the recognition underscores the critical role that integrity plays in strengthening public institutions and promoting transparency, professionalism, and responsible stewardship of public resources.
The award was received on behalf of the Liberia Land Authority by a delegation led by LLA Chairman Samuel F. Kpakio. Other members of the delegation included Commissioner for Land Administration Dr. Mamound Solomon, Assistant Director for Monitoring and Evaluation Milton Nue-Manee Brown Jr., Assistant Director for Human Resources Joshua Toto, and Media Consultant Rhodoxon Fayiah.
Speaking on the significance of the honor, Chairman Kpakio described the award as an encouragement for the Authority to continue its ongoing institutional reforms and strengthen internal accountability measures.
“This recognition serves as a motivation for the Liberia Land Authority to sustain its reform agenda, improve operational efficiency, and ensure that our services remain responsive to the needs of the Liberian people,” Kpakio said.
He emphasized that integrity, transparency, and accountability are fundamental principles for an institution tasked with managing one of the country’s most important natural resources.
“As an institution responsible for the administration and governance of land, maintaining public confidence is essential,” he noted. “This can only be achieved through responsible leadership, transparent decision-making, and equitable land administration.”
Kpakio further stated that the award should not be viewed solely as an institutional accomplishment but also as a renewed responsibility to uphold the principles of good governance and continuously improve the Authority’s performance.
He expressed appreciation to the Governance Commission for the recognition and reaffirmed the LLA’s commitment to promoting professionalism, strengthening institutional integrity, and contributing to Liberia’s broader national development agenda.
The award serves as a reminder that public trust is built on integrity, reinforced through accountability, and sustained by effective and responsible service delivery, he added.
The latest recognition represents the second major award received by the Liberia Land Authority this year. Earlier, in April 2026, the institution was presented with the 2025 Excellence Performance Award by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, acknowledging its achievements in public service and institutional performance.
The back-to-back honors reflect growing recognition of the LLA’s efforts to improve governance standards and enhance public confidence in Liberia’s land administration sector.
