Liberia Elections Agency Holds Dialogue With Political Parties’ Youths

The National Elections Commission with funding from the Economic Community of West African States has concluded a two-day regional dialogue with political parties’ youths on the Farmington River Declaration ahead of the 2023 legislative and presidential elections.

The dialogue under the theme, “Say NO to Election Violence” was held in the city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. Nearly 75 political parties’

NEC Commissioner with oversight for Political Parties Boakai  Dukuly extended thanks and appreciation to ECOWAS for the level of assistance given not just to the Elections Commission but the people of Liberia in general.

Commissioner Dukuly said the NEC remains fully committed to conduct free, fair, transparent and inclusive elections come 10 October 2023.

For his part, the Political Affairs Advisor to ECOWAS, Dr. Nat Walker said the regional body will continue to observe the 2023 General Elections in Liberia during and after the conduct of the polls on 10 October 2023.

He said ECOWAS is of the strongest conviction that Liberians are capable of conducting a free, fair, transparent and inclusive elections, led by the Liberian Elections Management Body, the NEC.

The second two-day Regional Dialogue for youths of political parties takes place today Monday, 25 September 2023 in Ganta City, in Nimba County.
