The President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mr. Mustapah I. Raji, has come under sustained pressure from Liberian football followers who want him to resign immediately from his exalted office.
This is connected with the recent failure of Liberia’s senior national football team two home defeats in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
It will be recalled this month, LoneStar suffered defeats to Malawi and Equatorial Guinea at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in their first two round qualifiers.
Lonestar’ failure did not go down well with thousands of disappointed Liberians, including the few handful of citizens who had stormed the national stadium to give support to their darling team.
Consequently, since the end of the two matches, some fans who can’t bear the pain of the monumental losses have been on the rampage protesting in Monrovia with a call for the immediate resignation of Raji and Coach Ansu Keita.
