The Institute for Transparency and Accountability International (ITAI) has called on incoming President Joseph Boakai to establish a cordial working relationship with the leadership and members of the legislature.
The Group said the newly elected Speaker of the House is a statesman who cares about the prosperity of the Liberian people and as such President Boakai should harbor no fear about him stalling his legislative agenda.
The court case file against the Speaker’s citizenship is an unnecessary distraction that has the propensity to destabilize state governance and disrupt the Unity Party’s development agenda.
Meanwhile, ITAI has called on Cllr. Koffa, upon his ascendency as Speaker of the 55th National Legislature, to work closely and collectively with the Liberian Senate, the Executive and Judiciary branches of government in moving the country forward.
ITAI however warned Cllr. Koffa not to use the position to subject national interest to party scrutiny, as doing so will only stall the development of the Country.
