The chairman of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change Legislative Caucus and Margibi County Senator, Nathaniel Farlo McGill, has condemned the Unity Party-led administration for preventing former President George Manneh Weah from accessing the Clar Weah VIP Lounge at the Roberts International Airport.
McGill argues that officials from the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs wrongfully denied the former president and his wife entry into the VIP Lounge.
He asserts that this action demonstrates hate, envy, and division among Liberians since the 2023 presidential elections.
The CDC’s Caucus plans to submit a communication to the Liberian Senate urging an investigation into the matter to determine the individuals responsible for authorizing this disrespectful act towards the former president.
McGill calls for an independent team to be appointed to investigate who denied Weah entry into the lounge, highlighting that Weah had constructed the VIP Lounge during his presidency. He emphasizes that the treatment of the former leader by the current administration poses a significant threat to national peace and security.
