Liberia: Rascal Minister; Rascal Mission!

Must read

By Vandalark R. Patricks The Minister of Commerce and Industry recent clarification on his alleged corruption speaks volumes.

A few observations: The minister confirmed the vehicle in question was purchased in the name of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. But, the main person who is using the vehicle is the Minister of Commerce and Industry; so da your new vehicle pruh.

But, buying the vehicle under the prevailing circumstances where MOCI is linked to a syndicate with Medtech should have signaled the Minister to reject that offer -expensive vehicle. Mr. Minister, you have more to explain.

The Minister stated he has been paying his driver from his pocket for 8 months. Really? Lol. My question is, is the driver not on government’s payroll? What stopped the Minister from putting his driver on the government’s payroll? This is an abuse of power and authority, because he has indirectly abused the rights of his driver.

That’s why drivers of this kind don’t object to their bosses, because he (Minister of Commerce) determines the Term of Reference of the driver, when he should report to work or go home. This is not generosity, but abuse of authority. Rascal Missionary!

It is imperative to state here also that the purchased vehicle in question is linked to funds provided by Medtech, which is currently undergoing corruption investigation. Isn’t this a syndicate, Mr. Minister?

A Minister who wants to fight corruption will REJECT this gift (vehicle) to prove a point under this situation, whether it was bought for MOCI!

Most importantly, the Minister of Commerce and Industry has BURIED the regulatory authority of the MOCI for a loaf of bread and a brand new vehicle after fronting for Medtech. Cheyyyy! Rascal Mission, Rascal Missionary

This is the typical example of how the Rescue Mission has be transformed to a Rascal Mission. Sorry to my good friends within the UP who hate for me to use these words. But, there’s no other way to put it than this.

I was quiet on this matter, but the minister’s justification on his Facebook Page promoted me to believe something isn’t right at all. His clarity speaks of an admittance of wrongdoing and he should be out of that place immediately.

From his perceived conniving with rice importers to get cut to a faulty clarification of his connection to a shady deal that got him a new vehicle speaks clearly of corruption.
