Liberia: EPA Concludes Technical Review On Agriculture Sector

Must read

The Environmental Protection Agency of Liberia on Tuesday concluded a two days technical review and validation meeting of the National Adaptation Plan Agriculture sector.

Speaking at the meeting, the project’s Consultant, Mr. Aaron Wesseh explained that the gathering is in line with the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) implementation in Liberia to be able to track Liberia’s progress.

According to him, projects were developed without an Implementation plan so they as consultants saw the need to develop and validate.

Mr. Wesseh noted that the NAP has Six sectors and without an Implementation plan, there is no way to note the country’s progress in those sectors so they saw the need as technicians to engage the NAP global network to provide support for the development of Liberia’s Implementation plans but due to the unavailability of fund, they decided to do it for one of the sectors (NAP Agriculture) to serve as pilot for the remaining five.

Mr. Wesseh, intimated it is against that backdrop the plan was developed, validated and sent back to partners and afterwards find the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to inform partners as to what needs to be done along with measurement because those indicators are the measurement tools of the project as per the validation results.

He however mentioned that the next step has to do with developing the data collection tools that will be validated between now till the 20th of this month.

He further expressed that the meeting was rewarding, participation overwhelming with a high level of women participation for stressing on funding as one of the major challenges.
