Liberia: LAGMA President Call on Liberians Support Gospel Artists

The President of the Liberia Association of Musical Gospel Artists (LAGMA) Ambassador Miracle Ketor has called on Liberians to support the Liberian gospel artists financially and morally.

She said the living standard of Liberian Gospel Artists is deplorable adding their backing that will enable them to enhance their welfare.

She made the appealed on Sunday at program the national Musical Award organized by the Liberia Association of Musical Gospel Artists (LAGMA) held at the Monrovia Christian fellowship center

She also called religious leaders as well as the government to help in any way possible as they strive in their effort to promote the gospel music industry of Liberia.

She added that the institution LAGMA is also appealing to the government to assist the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists through financial aid that will help to strengthen the organization in moving forward.

According to her, the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists are there to regulate policy that will protect and guide their members at times in the world.

She said, there are many good engineers in Liberia but because of no support   some of the musicians are finding it very difficult to continue their career.

Meanwhile, she lamented that artists are not actually realizing the fruits of their effort as a result of unstable photocopying of their works by corrupt rudiments without their authorization.

She used the occasion to warn all those who are in the habit of violating the Intellectual Property Rights of Liberians to stop or be punished in accordance with the law of the Republic of Liberia.

She also  said the aim for developing Liberia’s Gospel Artists make and marketing policy is to have a well-defined framework that showcases Liberia’s Gospel Artists potential and to promote the sector; and makes it prominent to draw customers, and generate brand awareness.

She also said that they are not getting support from any donor Agency, sometimes by the grace of God they are surviving.

She also reiterated her appeals to the government to assist the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists (LAGMA) through financial assistance as well as international communities and civil society organizations in Liberia.
