A Monrovia based youth group, African Youth Fellowship has urged youths of Nimba County to reject violence and division as the county prepares for a Special Senatorial By Election schooled this month.
“As you approach this critical Senatorial Bi-election, I want to speak directly to you. This is your moment to shape the future of Nimba County and Liberia. The decision you make today will determine the path of tomorrow. Do not let short-term gifts like money, quick impact vocational programs and bags of rice influence your vote. These things may provide temporary relief, but they will not build the schools, roads, or opportunities that you and your families need,” The group said.
Executive Director of the group Moses Buwee, told the media that peace is the foundation of progress. Urging the young people to avoid violence. Violence destroys the very progress the country has achieved thus far and the peace Liberians have fought so hard to achieve. Instead, let Nimba youths stand together to uphold peace and democracy.
Be an example of unity and understanding. Show the world that the youth of Nimba County are committed to peace and progress.
