Liberia has signed the second Country Framework program with the International Atomic Energy Agency for a four-year period end 2030 fior nuclear related assistance including transfer of technology.

Agriculture Minister Dr J. Alexander Nuetah and Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Liberia’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2026–2030 on 17 September 2025.

A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Liberia has been an IAEA Member State since 1962. Its 2026–2030 CPF identifies five priority areas:

  1. Radiation safety and nuclear security
  2. Food and agriculture
  3. Health and nutrition
  4. Energy and industry
  5. Water resources and environment
