Morocco’s Delegate Minister to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, met with Liberia’s Minister of National Defense, Geraldine Janet George, on Tuesday in Rabat, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
The visit is intended to strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Liberia.
During the meeting, Loudiyi and George signed a military cooperation agreement, which includes collaboration in training, joint exercises, technical assistance, military healthcare, and the exchange of experience in areas of common interest.
The framework also establishes a joint military commission that will define cooperation priorities and meet alternately in Rabat and Monrovia.
The ministers had discussed ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation in shared areas of interest and highlighted the role of Morocco and Liberia in maintaining stability, security, and peace in Africa.
The meeting also highlighted Morocco’s initiatives for South-South cooperation and regional integration, positioning the Kingdom as a key contributor to stability, security, and shared prosperity across the continent.
Both officials said they are committed to strengthening the friendship between Morocco and Liberia and implementing the newly signed defense cooperation agreement.
Royal Armed Forces (FAR) Inspector General and Commander of the Southern Zone, Major General Mohammed Berrid, also attended the signing ceremony.
