Liberia has formally authorized prediction markets under its International Gaming Licence, a move regulators say will place the country on equal footing with established global platforms.

The Liberia Online Gaming and Casino Commission, working under the National Lottery Authority (NLA), announced that prediction markets are now fully licensed, regulated, and ready to scale.

Prediction markets allow users to bet in real time on the outcome of real-world events, from sports and politics to economics and even weather. Participants usually place “Yes” or “No” wagers, and studies show that these markets often produce highly accurate forecasts by combining polling data, expert views, and news trends.

By placing prediction markets under the International Gaming Licence, Liberia ensures operators and suppliers can work with clear compliance rules. The NLA highlighted that Liberia’s framework now mirrors international standards, putting its licensed prediction markets on par with platforms such as Polymarket.

B2B and B2C operators supported with lots of tools

Liberia’s new framework does not stop at licensing prediction markets; it also builds a support system for both businesstoconsumer and businesstobusiness operators.

The structure welcomes platform owners, technology suppliers, aggregators, and retail operators, making sure each part of the industry can take part. Licensed firms gain access to strong banking and payment partners, recognition from international financial institutions, and support from leading technology providers.

Legal opinions tailored for different countries also help operators expand with confidence.

The framework fixes a problem that has troubled the sector for years, banking access. With enhanced financial connections, licensed operators can now secure approved financial services within a regulated system.

For players, this means prediction markets that are transparent and legal. For operators, it means they can launch and grow platforms with banking support, legal certainty, and credibility abroad.
