President Joseph Boakai has commended Germany’s Ambassador to Liberia Dr. Jakob Haselhuber for his dedicated service and contributions to strengthening relations between Liberia and Germany as the diplomat concludes his tour of duty in the country.
Receiving Ambassador Haselhuber at his Rehab Office, President Boakai extolled Liberian-German Relations and praised the cordial ties between the two nations.
The President recognized Germany’s continued contributions towards Liberia’s development, particularly in key areas of national development.
The Liberian Leader acknowledged the service rendered by the outgoing Ambassador, noting that current relations between the two countries are at a higher and deeply cordial level. President Boakai told the Ambassador that he counts on him to keep exploring new opportunities in areas of mutual benefits to both nations.
Further, President Boakai praised the resilience of the Germans, while recalling their immense contributions in training for key sectors of Government.
For his part, outgoing Ambassador Dr. Jakob Haselhuber lauded the President, the Government and the people of Liberia for the warm hospitality accorded him during his five years diplomatic tenure in Liberia.
He informed President Boakai that the German Adeneur Foundation is already in Liberia to work with the Cabinet and the Legislature.
The Ambassador, who is concluding his second stint in Monrovia, previously served as Germany’s Ambassador to Liberia from 2016 to 2019. He served in the country for five years, having assumed his post in August 2021.
