Criminal organizations exploit weak governance, porous borders, technological advancements, and corruption to facilitate the movement of narcotics across continents. Consequently, law enforcement officers require a comprehensive understanding of the various types of illicit drugs, their classifications, methods of identification, and the investigative techniques necessary to combat drug-related crimes effectively.
The identification and classification of illicit drugs are fundamental components of successful drug law enforcement operations.
