The political marketplace is open once again, and as usual, the professional peddlers of empty promises from the Unity Party and the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction have arrived with their rusty scales to weigh the destiny of Nimba County.

These two political bedfellows would love for us to believe they hold a sacred key to our hearts, but the cold reality is that they treat our people as convenient ladder steps during election season and disposable burdens the moment they settle into executive luxury.

Once they hit their destination and secure their high seats, the arrogance sets in, the doors are slammed shut, and the very hands that fed them are casually pushed aside.

When a man uses your sturdy shoulder to climb a high fruit tree, the least he can do is throw down a ripe piece of fruit, yet these folks prefer to eat the harvest and pelt our heads with the dry seeds.

Look at the appointment statistics that this alliance so desperately tries to sweep under the rug, because numbers do not carry party cards, nor do they tell emotional fairytales.

Across the region, the breakdown of meaningful national employment is a masterclass in political abandonment, leaving Twah River with a paltry two appointments, Gbehlay Administrative District with one, Zoe Gbao Administrative District with one, and Buu Yao with an absolute zero. To add salt to injury and make the disrespect complete, every single one of these token handouts is a deputy level position, leaving our region with a solitary head of entity across the entire public sector.

The ultimate pinnacle of their hypocrisy is that Buu Yao is the home district of the late Senator Prince Y. Johnson, the very man whose fierce political mobilization singlehandedly handed this regime state power on a silver platter.

The MDR and UP bosses sit comfortably in Monrovia while completely ignoring the late Senator’s backyard, proving that loyalty in their dictionary is merely a one-way street where they collect the interest and default on the principal.

Instead of delivering genuine development, this administration treats Nimba like a tactical hazard to be contained, using the rhetoric of accountability not for real justice, but as a political whip to intimidate, harass, and provoke the very people who crowned them.

Their hypocrisy peaks when they boast about their grand health projects, specifically the much-anticipated Comprehensive Health Center in Karnplay, which they parade around like a historic monument of progress.

Yet behind the shiny ribbon cutting lies a tragic joke, because this so-called comprehensive facility operates without a single anesthetist, meaning any patient needing emergency surgery must be loaded into a vehicle and rushed down the road to Sanniquellie or Ganta.

For a government that constantly brags about managing a point three-billion-dollar national budget, leaving a regional health hub without essential surgical personnel is an utterly embarrassing failure that no amount of smooth propaganda can disguise.

When forced to confront these glaring facts, the cheerleaders of this fragile alliance resort to low blows, labeling me as broke and suffering in a lazy attempt to divert attention from their own track record of zero tangible results.

But if the pen of one resolute citizen can make an entire political empire tremble and run for cover, then their political foundation must be crafted out of dry sand and held together by cheap glue. Let it be known that a stubborn child who argues openly with his father is a thousand times better than the smiling hypocrite who quietly poisons the old man’s bowl of rice.

My past political debates with the late Senator never destroyed his influence, whereas those who currently feast on his legacy are the very ones who erased his people from the national dinner table the second the election results were certified.

You simply cannot trick a woman into pregnancy and then expect her to magically wean a child that was never fed, just as you cannot continuously provoke Nimba County and expect us to applaud your neglect.

I am Garrison Doldeh Yealue, Jr., born of Soe Vayenglay, deeply rooted in Karnplay, raised by a law enforcement father and a schoolteacher mother, and backed by a proud lineage of traditional leaders. My spine is far too strong to bow before political illusionists who mistake our patience for ignorance. Nimba holds the master key to your political future, and the circus you brought to town has officially run out of steam.
