Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee has denied allegations linking him to importation of arms and ammunitions from Israel to Liberia.

Koijee told reporters Monday he did not import guns as being alleged by online television show –Spoon Talk. He admitted importing uniforms, pepper spray and other items for the Monrovia City Police.

“Since I became mayor, under my stewardship we have never ever brought any container from Israel,” he said.

“The truth is consistent and we urge you journalists to go to the Freeport of Monrovia to investigate, because we have never ever brought anything from Israel through the Freeport.

Koijee said uniform for the Monrovia City Police was brought through the Robert International Airport to add value and dignity to the Monrovia City government police force.

The Mayor urged the Liberia National Police to inform the public about the weapon that were found at the Freeport of Monrovia.
