CDC’s Gray Claims Win in House Race

Montserrado County Electoral District #8 incumbent lawmaker Acarous Moses Gray told reporters Wednesday he has retained his seat in the House of Representatives for another six years.

Gray described his unofficial victory as a struggled win with a 20 votes margin ahead of his closest rival, Prince Toles of the opposition Unity Party after personal tally of votes. Toles is also claiming victory. Only the National Elections has the authority to name winner.

“One thing I know for sure is that our win is unchangeable because our numbers and data are accurate,” Gray said.

“We had factors that played against but all I can say is that we have won with God’s help.”

Edging on a third-term in the House, the ruling party lawmaker told his challengers he’s willing for recount if the National Elections Commission deems fit.

Commenting on the presidential race, the CDC former Secretary Gray said party leader George Weah is in a comfortable lead and the CDC is poised for a second term victory.
