Edward Appleton, the first-time president candidates who shocked the nation by beating and pushing established and financially potent candidates down the presidential league table, has broken his silence and detailing the strategy that propelled him to the top three finishers in the October 10 elections.
“They say I am a Ghost,” the Grassroot Development Movement leader told reporters in Monrovia Tuesday
“I am Not a ghost.
“They say our party was setup to disrupt the electoral process. That is not true.
They say we have endorsed a candidate. Not True
“Our decision to endorse must be based on a clear understanding of what the Liberian people want.
‘They say that I, the Standard Bearer have left the country. I’m here.
“Why it is true that other parties were looking for crowds. We were in rural Liberia talking to people one on one delivering our message which felt on good grounds”
Appleton says he’s praying for wisdom to make a decision on picking President George Weah or Joseph Boakia in the Nov. 14 runoff vote.
