The Movement with Integrity for National Development is seriously concerned about what the group termed as ‘mere propaganda’ in the media by paid agents asking the president-elect, Ambassador Boakai and the newly 55th Legislature to review the concession agreement between the Global Tracking Maritime Solutions (GTMS) and the government.
“We welcome calls from such cheap propagandists of some unscrupulous ill responsible pay agents and bad journalists in the Liberians media and call on the president-elect, Ambassador Boakai and the national legislature not to take these group of guys who don’t have any legal business registration and article of incorporation to function as institutions seriously. We believe they have been paid by some group of business men and their custom brokers who have been fighting this company (GTMS) since its establishment by legal means in Liberia years ago,” the group said in a press release.
It can be recorded that GTMS have benefited and made a significant impact on the revenue of Liberia with no injury to the Liberia Government in any tax payment
According to the Executive Director of the group, Mr. Sekou Deebuh Sonii said his team of office staff had conducted several research on GTMS at the Liberia Revenue Authority, the Ministries of Commerce, and Finance, and the National Port Authority in investigating the day to day operations of GTMS.
The group said through their investigation have found no foul play by the company but rather the GTMS is always concerned with the safety of the goods and services to be provided to its business community to meet professional required services through the collection of rightful charges in its scope of operations
“We are using this medium to disabuse the minds of the public and the business community not to follow these group of hungry and unserious individuals who want to spoil the good reputation already built by the GTMS and its Managing Director Madam Aminata Bangura in Liberia over the years We as an integrity civil society media institution seriously warm individuals with bad journalism to desist from falsely accusing this serious minded company’s operations in Liberia and any attempt to attack the functions of GTMS operations within Liberia will seriously face the full weight of the law,” he said.
