The National Secretary General of the Liberia People Democratic Party (LPDP) Eric Kpayea has tendered his resignation from the party citing policy disagreement.
In a letter addressed to the party’s National Chairman, D Wah Hne , Kpayea cited “intense internal disagreements regarding the party’s policy direction” as the primary reason for his decision to step down from his position and relinquish his membership in the LPDP.
Kpayea, who had dedicated a decade of service to the party in various capacities said this voluntary resignation would enable him to pursue a “more independent approach to national political discourse,” which he deemed “imperative at this juncture.”
Despite his departure, Kpayea reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to advocating for good governance, democracy, and civil liberties in Liberia. In the letter, he conveyed his “heartfelt gratitude to the grassroots supporters of the Liberia People Democratic Party” for their “unswerving dedication, sacrifices, support, and respect” throughout the party’s democratic journey.
The letter has been shared with the National Election Commission, signifying the formal resignation of D. Eric Kpayea from his position within the Liberia People Democratic Party.
