Liberia’s Acting Finance and Development Planning Minister Anthony Myers has identified Agriculture, Roads, and Tourism as potential elements for National Investment across the country.
Speaking at the ongoing National Investment Conference organized by Nova Africa Ventures, Minister Myers emphasized the need for private and public sector investors to focus on these key areas as part of the country’s ongoing national development plan for inclusive growth.
“I am calling on all Private and Public Investors to align Agriculture, Road, and Tourism because they are part of the ongoing national development plan for inclusive development,” Minister Myers stated.
The minister highlighted that by developing these sectors, Liberia can become a specialized hub for the neighboring region, facilitating trade and business opportunities. He drew parallels to the success of countries like Switzerland, known for its quality products and strong banking system.
Additionally, Gbarpolu County Senator Amara M. Konneh, emphasized the importance of both internal and external reforms to attract investors and drive inclusive development.
He praised President Boakai’s commitment to managing government finances, creating fiscal predictability, and establishing a favorable institutional environment for investment.
The ongoing National Investment Conference, attended by various state actors, private sector investors, and other stakeholders, aims to explore the potential for national investment in Liberia.
Minister Myers and Senator Konneh’s remarks have set the stage for a renewed focus on Agriculture, Roads, and Tourism as key pillars of Liberia’s economic growth and development.
