By John Stewart (former Commissioner Truth and Reconciliation Commission)
After recently watching videos of Messrs S. David Coleman & Joe Wylie at the TRC, I feel compelled to again debunk, for the third time, Private Secretary Chieh’s “The Spectacular Rise & Catastrophic Fall of Three Liberian Presidents: Death of President William V. S. Tubman (actually a “Memoir of LIES”) published in 2015 – 53 years after his death – and wondered, why did it him so long?
Othello Coleman, who could not hide his glee when asked what could have caused Tubman’s death, responded, “What goes around, comes around. It is said that a nurse went into the room and told the security by the bed, “Excuse me I want to check” and whatever she did left blood splattered on the bed.” LIE.
Except for doctors and nurses, nowhere in the world one would be allowed in the operating room to wait on a patient let alone a security, and if blood was found, an immediate investigation would have been held especially considering Tubman’s relationship with the Queen and the British government.
On the ’55 plot, he said, “Paul Dunbar (assassin) showed my father the pistol Tubman gave him…my father did nothing wrong and was arrested along with my brother John in Clay Ashland.
He was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Mansion, and at the Mansion, Tubman told them to take off the handcuffs, and when they did, he slapped him.” Slapped an already pissed President Tubman???
I knew Paul Dunbar, a police Sergeant who had a .45 pistol like all police officers at the time (Tommie Bernard, Mozart Bernard, Arthur Thomas, etc); hence, Tubman did not need to give him another pistol.
Also, his father had shot and killed Police Officer Ballah and escaped into the bush where he tracked on a farm eating sugarcane with his son and both were killed.
But what could we expect to hear from a Coleman? When the name is Tubman? Spite. And to rewrite a 69 year old history!
Joe Wylie, “When Tubman was sick, President Tubman, and decided to go for some kind of procedure….some kind of surgery, I don’t know if it was prostate or whatever, but there was a Liberian doctor or nurse, I don’t know his name but he must have come from LAMCO who accompanied Tubman.
The doctor, according to the theory, was paid by Tolbert’s brother, Steven Tolbert, to take care of Tubman, and I understand that Tubman bled to death.
And the procedure he took was not such that he would have bled to death. And the procedure he took was not such that he would have bled to death, but somebody must have done some foul play.
And as the theory goes, the doctor then sent a telex when Tubman died to Steven Tolbert, and excuse my language because I’m sitting before the Liberian people, I have to use the exact words of the telex. The telex said to Steven, “The old ass is dead”, the telex was intercepted. At that time, the US Ambassador was a black guy called Westerfield.
Westerfield then called the Chief of Staff when he received the death news of Tubman and said, “Your the natives of this country have been wanting to take your country. Tubman is dead, you are the Chief of Staff. Take a few installations, we will support you, and then, your take your country over. It would be bloodless coup. You don’t have to kill nobody.
Korboi Johnson got afraid and spoke a Lorma to the effect that this one is too heavy for me “gulu weni Hana.”
LIE. So the Ambassador understood Lorma? And why would Steven Tolbert want Tubman, already lying dead, killed? Joe Wylie may have been the expert emeritus on the November 12th invasion, but no meeting was held except to embellish his revolutionary credentials.
Within 2 weeks of the Nigerian-Biafran Civil War ending (‘70) in which President Tubman played a pivotal role (photo of the African leaders leaving the parlors of the Mansion) – and Nigeria repaid the gratitude 21 years later with ECOMOG – Nigerian leader Gen. Yakubu Gowon flew to Monrovia to thank President Tubman.
About a month after that visit, President Tubman began taking treatment for a recurrent prostate and sometimes days, and weeks, unable to come down to the office leading to the trip to London. Quite contrary to Private Secretary Chieh’s “Memoir of LIES”, Tubman left Liberia a sick and dying man and was never checked in at any hotel.
Wylie, like Coleman, took a page from him and to prove it, I will quote a passage not only to encourage the Tubman family to take legal action, but mainly to challenge the conspiracy theorists leaning Commissioners particularly John Stewart, to confirm with the family involved & get back to this forum:
“It was alleged that when the Chief of Intelligence got the news that the President had the surgery but did not survive, he too died under mysterious circumstances.”
LIE. The Chief of Intelligence was Campbell (President Tolbert signed his own death warrant when he got rid of him/NISS – will expand in my book) who died in early August following the burial of President Tubman, when President Tolbert moved office from his Sinkor home to the Mansion, and based upon the results of an audit into both him & Col. Bestman (will expand in my book), they were relieved & turned over to the Justice Department for prosecution.
Commissioner Stewart, the ball is firmly in your court. And the general public AWAITS.
Until then, all of you Tubman hitting critics, conspiracy theorists S. David Coleman, Joe Wylie, & Private @ Secretary Chieh – main conspiracy theorist-in-Chief – LIED a thousand times, there was no foul play in President Tubman’s death. NEVER. NEVER.
