The Movement Solidarity & Trust for a New Day ( STAND) said the devastating fire that ravaged the Capitol Building, the official home of the Liberian Legislature this morning demands an immediate and thorough investigation to determine its cause, assess the full extent of the damage, and hold those responsible accountable, should it be found deliberate.
This tragedy must not remain unresolved; swift action is essential to uphold public trust. Therefore, we urge authorities, with the full backing of the U.S. government and development partners, to act swiftly.
The destruction of taxpayer-funded property must not be left in the shadows of uncertainty. Whether deliberate or spontaneous, violence is never an acceptable option! STAND calls for this matter to be treated with the utmost urgency and as a national emergency!
