Montserrado County Electoral District #16 Representative and spokesman for the Rule of Law Caucus, Dixon Seboe, has announced that the Speaker, J. Fonati Koffa, and his bloc will not participate in the ‘so-called reconciliatory conference’ organized by the Majority Bloc.
Rep. Seboe characterized the Majority Bloc’s request for reconciliation as “unthinkable and delusional,” particularly in light of their decision to suspend colleagues from Koffa’s bloc. He firmly stated, “The caucus will not attend this so-called Majority Bloc’s ‘reconciliatory’ meeting,” referring to it as a mere pretense.
Seboe argued that the meeting serves as a facade following the Majority Bloc’s arbitrary suspension of one of their members, which infringes upon his freedom of speech and expression. He asserted that the Majority Bloc’s actions do not reflect genuine reconciliation, making their proposed meeting irrelevant to the Rule of Law Caucus.
In addition, he noted that the caucus is looking forward to the interpretation of the Bill of Information scheduled for Friday, March 14, hoping for clarity and precision. Seboe also criticized the participation of Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh in the meeting, pointing out her absence as she attends an International Women’s Day conference in the U.S.
In a separate statement, the Rule of Law Caucus condemned the unconstitutional suspension of Representative Yekeh Kolubah by the Majority Bloc, emphasizing the need for adherence to democratic principles.
The House of Representatives has been in crisis for nearly five months significantly impacting governance and political economy.
