Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah has concluded a tour of Liberia’s southeastern counties, where he rallied significant support for the opposition and launched a fierce critique against the Unity Party-led government.
During his visits to Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, and Grand Kru counties, Kolubah addressed large crowds of enthusiastic supporters, denouncing what he described as “corruption, misrule, and failed leadership” under President Joseph Boakai’s administration. He accused the Unity Party of marginalizing rural communities and failing to deliver on key development promises made during the 2023 elections.
“The Unity Party government has done nothing to change the suffering of the Liberian people,” Kolubah declared in Harper, Maryland County. “They have betrayed the hopes of ordinary citizens, especially in the southeast.”
His speeches resonated with many who expressed frustration over poor road networks, lack of healthcare access, high unemployment, and rising prices of essential goods. Kolubah promised to push for greater accountability in government and urged the people of the southeast to stand firm with the opposition in the struggle for what he called “real change.”
Kolubah enjoys growing popularity in the southeast. His fiery rhetoric and grassroots engagement have positioned him as a prominent voice within Liberia’s opposition bloc.
Though critics dismiss his tour as political grandstanding, Kolubah remains unapologetic. “This country belongs to all of us, not just to the ruling elite in Monrovia,” he said. “The people in the southeast deserve a government that works for them.”
