The Executive Protection Service (EPS) has marked a historic milestone as Special Agent and Training Commandant Tarpeh L. U-sayee Jr. earned a Doctoral Degree in Church Growth and Ministry. The conferment took place on January 17, 2026, in Harper, Maryland County, through T-Net International/Teleo University USA.

Dr. U-sayee becomes the first active EPS officer to achieve a doctoral degree, a distinction that underscores both personal resilience and institutional progress. He joined the service—then known as the Special Security Service—during the tenure of Interim President Amos Sawyer, rising through the ranks to become one of its most seasoned officers.

“This achievement is not just mine; it is a chapter in the evolution of Liberia’s security institutions,” Dr. U-sayee told reporters in Harper. “Peacekeeping, counterterrorism, border security, and human security are global responsibilities. Our institutions must rise to international standards.”

He emphasized that education, discipline, and service are inseparable pillars of national security, adding that Liberia’s consolidation of peace and democratic governance requires professional and academically equipped officers.

The EPS hailed the milestone as a symbol of intellectual growth within the force, affirming that its members can advance from operational duties to leadership roles grounded in scholarship and ethics.

Dr. U-sayee’s journey reflects the intersection of security, education, faith, and national service. His accomplishment is expected to inspire young officers across the EPS, Liberia National Police, and Armed Forces of Liberia.

He extended appreciation to AME University, AME Zion University, MOSSAD Avenue, Oracle News Daily newspaper, and the Liberian press, noting that nation-building requires collaboration between security institutions, academia, and responsible media.
