The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will this Friday, 23 January 2026, open a book of condolence for fallen veteran broadcast journalist Frank Loboe, widely known as “Dog Pound”.
Loboe, who worked for a number of media institutions including the Liberia Communications Network (LNC), Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), and Hott FM, passed away on 11 January 2026 following a period of illness.
He was an amazing voice in radio and television programming production and live sports commentary, best known for his colorful analyses of sports and music.
The PUL is saddened over the passing of Loboe at the age of 56. He was a recognized member of the Union, who at certain points of his life also ventured in active politics.
The family of Loboe has informed the Union that wake-keeping will take place on this Friday, 23 January 2026, at the Loboe Residence on Coleman Avenue (between 12th and 13th Streets) in Sinkor, near the Levi C. Williams School, starting at 7 P.M.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, 23 January 2026, at the S.T. Nagbe United Methodist Church on 13th Street in Sinkor, starting at 10 A.M., to be followed by burial in Congo Town.
The PUL urges all journalists, media and communications practitioners, and the public to grace the book of condolence signing ceremony, which starts at 11 A.M, at the Union’s Head Office on Warner Avenue, 9th Street, Sinkor.
