President Joseph Boakai led former President George Weah in a Spoon Talk radio opinion poll, receiving the largest share of votes among respondents. Who were asked to select among a list of presidential politicians who could better lead Liberia in 2029.
The poll, which collected a total of 100 phone votes—50 from callers within Liberia and 50 from international callers—returned the following results: Joseph N. Boakai (UP) 49 votes (49%) — 25 local, 24 international.
George Weah (CDC):31 votes (31%)
Alexander Cummings (ANC):17 votes (17%)
Musa Bility (CMC): 3 votes (3%)
Boakai’s 18-point lead over Weah (49% vs. 31%) marks the largest share in the poll and highlights strong support among both domestic and diaspora callers, with his local and overseas tallies nearly even.
Methodology
The poll was conducted by phone through the Spoon Talk program, with an equal split of domestic and international calls.
With only 100 respondents and a self-selecting phone-in format, the poll is not a scientific survey and may not be representative of the broader electorate.
Nonetheless, the results provide an immediate snapshot of listener sentiment on the program and suggest notable backing for Boakai among those who participated.
