The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications joined the global community in commemorating World Post Day 2025, under the inspiring theme #PostForPeople: Local Service. Global Reach. The celebration, proclaimed by His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., pays tribute to the enduring legacy of the postal service as a vital connector of people, communities, and opportunities across the nation.

In a statement marking the occasion, the Ministry highlighted the transformative power of postal services in bridging Liberia’s vast geographical and digital divides. From Monrovia’s busy markets to the remote towns of Bong, Buchanan, and Lofa, postal workers—referred to as the nation’s “postal warriors”—continue to deliver mail and essential services under the guiding motto: “Rain or Shine, Mail Must Go!”

Over the past year, the Ministry has recorded remarkable achievements aimed at modernizing the postal sector. These include the expansion of digital postal hubs, the introduction of broadband connectivity in rural areas, and the establishment of solar-powered post offices. Through collaborations with the World Bank, the Universal Postal Union, and local innovators, the Ministry has launched initiatives that support e-commerce, agricultural trade, and digital entrepreneurship, empowering citizens to participate more fully in the global economy.

Looking ahead, the Ministry pledged to deepen its efforts in alignment with President Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for inclusive growth. Priorities include advancing universal postal service obligations, leveraging artificial intelligence for smarter logistics, and promoting a green postal ecosystem that integrates sustainability into postal operations.

The Ministry also extended heartfelt appreciation to Liberia’s postal and telecommunications workers, recognizing them as “the unsung architects of unity” and “guardians of our shared story.” Their commitment, the Ministry noted, keeps Liberia connected—transforming letters into lifelines and parcels into promises.

As the nation celebrates World Post Day, Liberians are encouraged to embrace the postal system as a symbol of connection, progress, and national pride. The Ministry reaffirmed its vision for a future where every Liberian is linked, lifted, and empowered through a robust, innovative, and inclusive postal network.
