The celebration, proclaimed by His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., pays tribute to the enduring legacy of the postal service as a vital connector of people, communities, and opportunities across the nation.
In a statement marking the occasion, the Ministry highlighted the transformative power of postal services in bridging Liberiaās vast geographical and digital divides. From Monroviaās busy markets to the remote towns of Bong, Buchanan, and Lofa, postal workersāreferred to as the nationās āpostal warriorsāācontinue to deliver mail and essential services under the guiding motto: āRain or Shine, Mail Must Go!ā
Over the past year, the Ministry has recorded remarkable achievements aimed at modernizing the postal sector. These include the expansion of digital postal hubs, the introduction of broadband connectivity in rural areas, and the establishment of solar-powered post offices. Through collaborations with the World Bank, the Universal Postal Union, and local innovators, the Ministry has launched initiatives that support e-commerce, agricultural trade, and digital entrepreneurship, empowering citizens to participate more fully in the global economy.
Looking ahead, the Ministry pledged to deepen its efforts in alignment with President Boakaiās ARREST Agenda for inclusive growth. Priorities include advancing universal postal service obligations, leveraging artificial intelligence for smarter logistics, and promoting a green postal ecosystem that integrates sustainability into postal operations.
