Ruling Unity Party Chairman Luther Tarpeh has announced plans to submit a list of under-performing government officials to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, demanding their immediate dismissal or replacement.

Tarpeh’s move signals mounting frustration within the ruling party over sluggish governance and unmet promises, as the administration approaches the halfway mark of its first term.

“There are some members in our government who are not performing well,” Tarpeh declared. “We will do the list and submit it to your noble office. We want to see some ministers replaced immediately. We want to see some directors replaced. The nation must thrive. We cannot allow non-performing members of our government to be the weak link in our service delivery to the people of Liberia.”

The Unity Party chairman’s remarks underscore growing impatience with officials accused of undermining the government’s reform agenda. Tarpeh insisted that a cabinet reshuffle is “long overdue” and urged President Boakai to act decisively. “As we march majestically toward the end of the first half of our administration, we are calling on Mr. President to reshuffle the cabinet,” he said.

Beyond cabinet performance, Tarpeh issued a stern warning to Liberia’s joint national security agencies, demanding swift action on corruption investigations. “We are tired of waiting for investigations to be complete. Any further delay will make the public misconstrue your professional investigative ability. The Liberian people demand answers right now and not later,” he cautioned.

In a chilling ultimatum, Tarpeh vowed that no official would be spared if found culpable. “Anyone whose hand is caught in the cookie jar must face the weight of the law. Anyone, no matter the status, no matter the position, and no matter the influence—we are going to lock you up.”

Tarpeh’s explosive statement has set the stage for a potential cabinet purge, intensifying pressure on President Boakai to act. With public impatience rising and the ruling party itself demanding accountability, the coming weeks could prove decisive in shaping the administration’s legacy.
