A group of concerned former lawmakers has established a Special Mediatory Committee to address the ongoing political and constitutional crisis within the House of Representatives.
This initiative aims to foster dialogue and facilitate a negotiated settlement among the various factions embroiled in the gridlock of Liberia’s 55th Legislature.
Recognizing the urgent need to maintain national peace and stability, the newly formed committee seeks to intervene in the political stalemate that has hindered legislative progress.
The esteemed members appointed to the committee include Prof. Edwin T. Juah, Hon. Alomiza M. Ennos, and Atty. Rufus D. Neufville, all of whom bring a wealth of legislative experience and expertise to the table.
The committee’s primary mandate is to engage all parties involved in the impasse, striving for a resolution that serves the best interests of the Liberian people. Their efforts will focus on preventing an impending constitutional crisis that could jeopardize the country’s nascent democracy.
To further bolster their efforts, the Special Mediatory Committee plans to collaborate with leadership from the Senate alongside local and international stakeholders. Through these interactions, the committee aims to build consensus and foster cooperation among various political entities, working towards a peaceful and constructive resolution.
