The body of 50-year-old Ma Quita Jackson was discovered early Friday morning behind the Suakoko graveyard, a day after she was reported missing, prompting women in the area into demonstration.
Family members told reporters that Ms. Jackson disappeared around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Despite an extensive search by relatives and neighbors, she could not be located until a group of community members found her lifeless body the following morning.
Officers of the Liberia National Police assigned to the Suakoko Police Depot, along with residents, responded to the scene and convened a 15-member coroner’s jury to conduct a preliminary examination. The panel included medical personnel, community representatives, and relatives of the deceased.
According to the jury’s findings, no foul play was immediately suspected. However, the body was reportedly discovered unclothed, with unusual inscriptions observed on the skin. The report was signed by Jury Secretary Elijah Kerkulah and approved by Jury President Cooper Jorker.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing and have assured the public that further details will be released as they emerge.
Jackson’s death has heightened fear among residents, who say mysterious deaths have become increasingly common in the county. Family members, friends, and community dwellers are mourning her loss.
On Sunday morning, dozens of women in Suakoko staged a roadblock, demanding justice and calling for a thorough investigation into Jackson’s death.
