Central Bank of Liberia Clarifies it did not send delegation to Tanzania for agriculture Bank modelling as reported by this publication. In email statement shared with the Oracle News Daily, the Bank described as inaccurate media report regarding staff presence in Tanzania to study the operation of Tanzania Agriculture Bank.
“After conducting internal checks, we have found no official record or communication confirming that CBL has dispatched any delegation to Tanzania for this purpose,” the statement said.
“Senior management has expressed surprise at the report, and preliminary feedback indicates that if such an initiative exists, it may be led by another institution rather than the CBL.”
A recent article published by Oracle News Daily on December 1, 2025, titled “Liberia Eyes Tanzania’s Agriculture Bank Model” states that a high-level delegation from the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) is in Tanzania to study the operations of the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) as part of plans to establish Liberia’s first specialized agricultural development bank.
Tanzania Agriculture Development Bank issued statement about the CBL staff’s visit and was widely published in several East African media outlets and shared by news agencies.
Three Central Bank of Liberia staff including Jay Brown the head of development finance department can be seen in photo posted on TADB website and social media platforms following the meeting in Tanzania.
