The Management of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) has issued a strong denial against recent allegations circulating on social media, asserting that the company purchased vehicles for US$55,000 each for its vice presidents, exceeding the National Budget’s threshold of US$45,000.

In a statement, NOCAL clarified that the actual cost of the KIA Seltos Model , considerably below the government’s established limit. The company invites the public to verify this information with the authorized KIA dealership located at 18th Street and Tubman Boulevard in Monrovia.

NOCAL also addressed claims regarding the involvement of its vice presidents in alleged financial mismanagement, following assertions attributed to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

NOCAL emphasized that the LACC is still conducting its investigations, and has not made any official determinations about the participation or guilt of any individuals associated with the company.

The management condemned the spread of misinformation, urging the media and public to exercise caution before disseminating unverified claims that could damage reputations and tarnish the integrity of the institution. NOCAL reassured the public of its commitment to transparency and accountability, pledging full cooperation with ongoing LACC investigations.
